Revolutionising taxi rides in Hong Kong, powered by Wonder and Heycars
Wonder integrates its Taxi Pay service into the Heycars ride-hailing platform, letting Mainland visitors hail and pay for Hong Kong taxis from a familiar wallet.
In a landmark move that promises to enhance the travel experience for visitors to Hong Kong, Wonder, a leading fintech company based in Hong Kong, has joined forces with Heycars, a popular ride-hailing app from Mainland China. The collaboration brings seamless digital payment solutions to the taxi industry, making it easier than ever for travellers to hail and pay for taxis.
Wonder launched Hong Kong's first taxi electronic payment service authorised by the HKSAR Transport Department on 9 April 2024, and is now integrating its Taxi Pay service onto the Heycars platform — catering to international travellers accustomed to cashless transactions.
For passengers from Mainland China, the partnership makes it possible to hail taxis in their Alipay wallet and removes the stress of currency exchange and carrying cash — a familiar, secure and convenient payment method that lets travellers navigate the city with the same cashless convenience they enjoy at home.
